The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Legacy

Founded in 1969, the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Foundation, Inc. was the first community college foundation in North Carolina. The Foundation ensures that donated funds are invested wisely and disbursed in ways that contribute to the ongoing excellence of Â鶹¹ÙÍø.

Since 1963, when Mrs. Mary Luman Meyer gave the gift of 250 acres of land on Airport Road in Southern Pines, which created Â鶹¹ÙÍø, the college has been blessed and enriched by the private support of its students, programs, facilities, and capital needs. During the past four decades, Â鶹¹ÙÍø has achieved a level of excellence rare among American colleges, which has been made possible through the truly remarkable level of private support the college has received.

The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with Federal Tax Id Number 56-0946799.

More Ways to Give

There are many ways to make a gift to help ensure Excellence and Opportunity at Â鶹¹ÙÍø. Gifts can be made at any time during the year and may be designated for a specific purpose or may be given unrestricted (which provides the college with the opportunity to use the gift where it is needed most).

The current state of the economy has created many challenges for Â鶹¹ÙÍø. Despite the challenges, the work of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Foundation goes on. The Foundation’s commitment to academic Excellence for all who seek to improve their lives has not changed.

"To me, this CDL program was much more than just a class. It taught me so much, and has opened so many doors for me, and given me opportunities I never could have dreamed of, or thought would ever be possible for me…Without your generous contributions I would not be standing here...and none of this would have ever been obtainable for me... Your kindness was nothing short of a true blessing to me."

“Eventually, I found my way to Â鶹¹ÙÍø, and from day one, I felt seen, supported, and valued. The advisors truly care, and the professors pour so much into their students…I stand here today as living proof of what your kindness makes possible...it is because of your scholarship I have the breathing room to focus on finishing my degree.â€
